One of the best things about being alive is that you get to do things. Okay, I know that sounds pretty…obvious, but I think it’s easy to fall into the trap of letting the things that you’ve always wanted to do remain The Things You’ve Always Wanted to Do. Sometimes you have to just jump and do the thing you wanted to do, already.
Almost exactly two years ago, I said, “Ameriie, you always wanted to do ____ and you keep putting it off. Don’t let ____ turn into The Thing You Always Wanted to Do.” Anyhow, in addition to my other creative projects, I’ve been doing that. Which takes A LOT of time. And I love every moment of it. Okay, enough of that—you know me, I never like to talk too much about something prematurely, so we’ll get back to that later. ;)
So…I’ve revamped my blog. This is something else I’ve always wanted to do. I love sharing with you all great music, books, makeup, fashion, and healthy recipes, but I suppose my default is to fall into my little dark shell so I can create. Because ultimately, that’s what I love to do best: create. I’m the kid who covered her windows with pillows because I didn’t want my friends to ask me to come out and play (because I was busy playing Barbies with Angela or drawing paperdolls or reading and writing alone in my room or reading comics aloud so I could record all the voices and then go through the comic later as if it were a cartoon. But I digress…). Now, I think I’ve found a way to balance it all out. I think. Time will tell.
In the meantime, find that Thing You’ve Always Wanted to Do and see if you can turn it into the Thing That You’re Doing or the Thing That You Did. Trust me, it feels pretty good.
